Michelle came to NMB looking to open up her kitchen space and offer something more bespoke than the off the shelf kitchens. We were looking at using up every inch of possible space making as much use of the available space without making it feel overcrowded. The solution to this was extra tall wall cabinets and larder units to make the best use of the tall ceilings in Michelles Victorian Terraced home.
Michelle was keen to keep the authentic feel of the house so came up with some features such as the exposed brick wall which is actually a “brickslip” wall. Brickslips are essentially the faces of bricks cut off to approx 10mm thick and then fitted like tiles. The bricks are then pointed to create the feel of a solid brick wall. The flooring chosen was a solid parquet style floor laid in Herringbone style. A time consuming fit but stunning result.
Kitchen.
The kitchen door is a Solid Oak shaker style door painted to order. The blue doors are Indigo blue and the Wall Cabinets were painted to Farrow & Ball “Off White” The quartz used is Arabesque White Quartz with matching upstands. The tiling is flat metro style tiling with the rustique edge. Brass door knobs and handles finish the doors and the undermount double ceramic sink and Brass Tap finish the sink run.
The ceiling was lowered in order to get the ceiling spotlights in and the full room was freshly plastered. Flooring went throughout the kitchen and diner and New French doors fitted in the Dining area.
“NMB supplied and fitted our kitchen a couple of months ago and were great to deal with from start to finish. Nev spent lots of time with us designing the kitchen and coming up with solutions to ensure we could get everything we wanted. The work carried out by Ben was excellent. Obviously there were a few hiccups along the way but these were dealt with quickly and professionally. Nothing was too much trouble, and I can be very fussy! The end result is a kitchen/diner we love to spend time in now and everyone comments on how great it looks. I wouldn’t hesitate to call on NMB for future jobs.”
